Victoria Place July 1, 2011

Our President Jim Watt was ready for Canada Day at this event...as shown in the photo to the right of this page.

To start out on a day off is good, but to go and relax for a day at Victoria Place is divine. Our host Bryan and Kathy Rhodes were so welcoming by helping everyone get settled. I was sure thankful to have a ride from the truck at the launch ramp, to our table at the beach. The ceremony and the raising of the flag were done so peaceful, which truly made it a Canada Day celebration.

We really enjoyed all the decorations on the pontoon boats. It was so much fun, they really went all out. We enjoy showing our boats, and the homeowners of Victoria place thanked us over and over again for coming and sharing in the day. The car show that Victoria Place members put on was really special with lots of rare and classy cars. “Hats off” to all the people who wore crazy looking hats, and a big applause to them. They really outdid themselves. The cake and ice cream was enjoyed by all. When we are there, the time just drifts away. We see so much there in wildlife such as turtles, fish and birds. Bryan told us of all the things that they are doing there to preserve the natural setting.

Victoria Place is just one great place for perfect weather to turn into a perfect day. I cannot think of a better way to spend Canada Day with friends new and old and this event.Vicki Parnell
