Thirty-two members met at Ronny’s Marine shop on Saturday March 7th. On our way into the workshop we viewed a few of Ronny’s fiberglass restored boats. We enjoyed a few minutes of meeting and greeting, over Campbellford’s delicious “Dooey’s” donuts (thanks to Jim Watt) and coffee, then Ronny began his workshop. Once Ronny related his work background we immediately knew we were being taught and given information by an expert in the fibreglass boat restoration.
Being a woman I must admit I took a book to read and had second thoughts about my commitment to take pictures and do a write-up about this event, however, I was totally surprised by the useful information, from Ronny, presented in terms even I could understand and the useful answers from relevant questions presented by those present. Ronny held even my complete attention for the full 2-1/2 hours presentation so you can imagine the interest and information absorbed by the men.

A large number of gift certificates and prizes were distributed as door prizes just before we headed to the recommended Woody’s Burgers in Havelock for lunch. Jeff and George tried something different, grilled cheese hamburger, which they both enjoyed. After lunch a few members headed back to Ronny’s workshop for an open question and answer period. This was George's and my first TSACBA workshop experience and I’d highly recommend our members try to find time to attend at least one during the year.
A huge thank you to our TSACBA executive and event committee for arranging and setting up this event – Murray Parnell, John Gullick, Jeff Souch, Jim Watt, Ronny Haylock and staff.
