Boy, have we had a good old fashion winter, you know like the ones we had when we were kids, I have heard that a lot this winter, Not sure if it brings us to happy times of our youth or we can stand the cold any more so we think of happy times as a kid. Many of our partners think we still are kids. All that nonsense said it was just fun to get together at the Clarion Boats shop and huddle around some warm wood and enjoy wonderful chats with many of the 45 club members who attended.
The day started off with a talk about all things Epifanes. Gord Laco took us through the different varnishes to all the paints and why we need so many choices.
We had a break and then a celebration as Gord let on that it was Ken Lavalette’s Birthday, after a good sing and fancy donuts our host for the day Dwight Boyd gave us an introduction into epoxy. Dwight gave us instruction on gluing, glassing and use of many different additives.
The morning went by very quickly and when it came time for lunch, we all split up into groups and headed to various local restaurants for a bite to eat.
The afternoon was left for us to ask questions about anything we needed to help with our DYI projects. Rob Parnell gave us an over view on polishing metal, Rob specializes in this area and would be happy to polish anything metal or fix up the plastic windshields that you need shined.
To complete our day we had the run of the 2 buildings and storage area to look at the many boats onsite. There was a much diversified collection of boats in the back from many spots in North America.
This event could not happen without the help of great volunteers. Thanks to Murray Parnell for putting this all together, his support team and to Kirsten and Dwight Boyd of Clarion Boats for opening up there facility.
