Paddle to Power June 18, 2016
Millenium Park downtown Peterborough

This event started with a promotional video filmed at Millennium Park by CHEX TV, one of the sponsors of the event along with the City of Peterborough. Past President John Gullick did the honours in letting everyone know what would be happening and showing off just a few of the boats to be displayed.

The video was shown on CHEX TV leading up to the event and was posted on the TSACBA Twitter and Facebook pages. It broke all records for number of views and responses of anything we have posted on Facebook to date!

What a special day. The weather was beautiful and the venue perfect for a great display of all types water craft, from canoes to small sail boats, classic fiber glass boats, racing boats, and of course a field full of beautiful woodys.

In all, there were 44 boats on display. I've never seen or been in such a large and varied display of boats out of water.

We counted 8 Peterborough's, including our own, Soggy Bottom, along with several Lakefields and Canadians, a Dispro, and about four Shepherds, both inboard and outboards. There was also a display of classic outboard motors to gaze upon.

We really enjoyed getting to know fellow boat owners and talking with people who dropped by to share their memories of when these classic boats where all you saw in the lakes and rivers.

This was such a wonderful event, our first with the Trent Severn Antique and Classic Boat Association. I will gladly come back for the next Paddle to Power show.

Thanks to all the organisers who made the show possible.

The boat photos below are divided into three categories, the classic wooden boats, the now classic Fibreglas boats, and the motors that were on display.
