On a hot, humid day, July 20, TSACBA provided a number of wooden boats for the 25th Annual Newcastle Wooden Boat Festival at the Port of Newcastle. This event has become one of the popular ones that we look forward to each year.

No matter how hot the temperature, there is always a nice breeze off Lake Ontario and shade from the huge willow trees. If you arrive early and have missed your breakfast then the Brig Restaurant is the place to go where you can eat inside in air-conditioning or out on the newly expanded deck. Upon arrival, each of us was given a gift bag full of great items, including a special 25th Anniversary Wooden Boat Festival T-Shirt and complimentary drink and BBQ passes. Along with the display of boats, there were vendors with quality items for sale, a Calypso steel drum band entertaining in the beer garden and plenty of picnic tables to enjoy those delicious hot dog, hamburgers or sausages on a bun.

This event gives the boat owners an excellent opportunity to share boating knowledge with visitors and no less important a chance to sit and chat with guests and club members alike.

A big thank you to TSACBA Member, Ken Lavalette, owner of Woodwind Yachts and Allison Woolacott from Kaitlin Homes for once again organizing this special day-long event and inviting TSACBA to participate. It was a day of fun and relaxation.
