Very fitting for one of our newest members to be building a new wooden boat! The first wooden hydroplane in the Association, this promises to be quit an interesting project for Jeff!
Construction has started. Frame numbers 1 through 12 have been machined out of 1/2 Baltic Birch. Each frame is continuous with no joints. Frames 4,5,6, and 7 are shown in the pictures below. Each frame is machined with a 1/4 round to remove all sharp edges and allow for more glue surface. The frames have been notch for the stringers. Next step is to machine the stringers and begin assembly. Batten and lightning hole will be cut into the frames once the assembly begins.
