"Craigellachie" 1988 19 ft. Kavalk Classic Runabout

"Craigellachie" 1988, 19 ft. Kavalk Classic Runaboutr
(Owned by Ross & Ann Dobbin)

Built in Richmond, B.C. by Kavalk Boats Ltd. This unique custom design by the Kavalk father and son team is quite unlike any other boat of its class. The hull design has a very fine entry forward, and an extremely deep V at the stern. The hull is fibre-glass construction, hand lay-up, with black gelcoat giving it a mirror-like finish and quality. The mahogany strip decking is in fact a strip deck over top of a full fibreglass deck which is built using the West System of epoxy resins mahogany veneer over a fibreglass deck. Built originally for Don Grant of Toronto, it was used in Lake Rousseau. He took delivery of the boat in 1989 and used it as a family runabout. The Dobbin family purchased the boat in 2002 and it is presently used and enjoyed on Stony Lake.
