It started out as one of those days when the weather is being watched and the forecast checked as we were trying to decide if we would attend the Canada Day celebration at Victoria Place on Pigeon Lake.
We decided to go for it as we had missed other events because of impending bad weather only to see the conditions improve and to hear that those who went had a great day.
On arrival the waterfront area which is normally getting busy was quite deserted. It got darker and the wind picked up and then the heavy rain started but didn’t last long.
Since the festivities had been moved to the community center we figured we would at least have a showing of our boat as well as the” Cayuga” owned by the Rhodes.
Over lunch it was evident that a little rain would not dampen the Canadian spirit of this community and a great time was had by all.
